Waimea Estates was established by
Trevor and Robyn Bolitho in 1993 and is the second largest vineyard/winery operation
in the Nelson region of New Zealand. The winery produces Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling,
Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. The Bacchus
Group imports Waimea's "Spinyback" line of wines, whose colorful labels depict the
indigenous Tuatara Lizard. Every bottle of Spinyback wine purchased will provide a
donation to assist the local Maori Tribe in Nelson in their education and conservation
efforts to protect the Tuatara.
