Schneider-Weisse / Germany |
 |
 |
The "Weisses Brauhaus" in Munich,
is where the brewery was founded. It is here where Georg Schneider I., brewed his first Schneider Weisse Original
in 1872. With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermenting yeast, the beer
has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly
spicy with a typical top-fermented smell. An arome of clove and nutmeg apple
tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious
and well-balanced. It finishes lightly sparkling with a light and fine bitterness.

and limiting chemical treatments as much as possible. Average yields are kept very low, at about 30
hectoliters of wine per hectare, to enhance the character of the varieties and to capture the essence
of the terroir. Luce was the first wine ever produced in Montalcino by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes.

Marques de Caceres / Spain |
 |
 |
The secret of Caceres' success lies in Bordeaux.
Enrique Forner left Spain in the 1960s and he bought two rundown châteaux in the Médoc,
Larose-Trintaudon and fifth-growth Camensac. Success there gave him the means to return to
Spain and the noted Bordeaux enologist Emile Peynaud was his guide. Forner established Bodegas
Marques de Caceres in 1970, building a modern production center in Cenicero, a town in the prime
vineyard area of Rioja Alta. When Forner brought modern Bordeaux models back to Rioja, Caceres'
winery was revolutionary. It remains one of the most technologically advanced in the region.
